Bernoulli Expands Coverage to Canadian Hospitals

A single system for clinical surveillance, medical device integration, and real-time analytics – the advanced Bernoulli One™ platform now available to Canadian hospitals

bernoulli expands coverage to canadian hospitals

MILFORD, Conn., Oct. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Bernoulli, the developer of the advanced Bernoulli One™ clinical surveillance, medical device integration (MDI), and real-time data analytics platform, announced today that it is now selling its solutions in Canada. With more than 1,200 installed systems in the U.S., the expansion into Canada is another indicator of the positive trajectory of the company’s growth.

“Given the growing interest we have seen from Canadian hospitals and health systems regarding connectivity and clinical surveillance, our expansion into the Canadian market is a natural one,” said Janet Dillione, CEO of Bernoulli Health. “Our solutions have proven to enhance clinical outcomes in hospitals across the U.S., and we are excited to bring these innovative technologies to Canadian health systems to help them improve patient safety.”

The Bernoulli One software solution extends continuous monitoring and clinical surveillance for all departments throughout a hospital or health system. The solution allows caregivers to surveil multiple patients, patient data (e.g., vitals), and device data (e.g., ventilator settings) from many sources (i.e., ventilators, pulse oximeters, physiologic monitors, etc.) at a centralized location or via mobile alarm notifications. Beyond basic monitoring where the system simply passes alarm information, Bernoulli uses multi-variate rules to correlate real-time and retrospective data to create clinically-actionable early warning alerts. Bernoulli One detects deteriorating patient conditions and enables caregivers to intervene before a patient’s health is compromised.

One Bernoulli user and Director of Respiratory Care at a large U.S.-based health system shared this about Bernoulli One, “What we are seeing is that if a patient starts to degrade from a pulmonary standpoint, our clinical staff is able to respond and intervene much faster than before.”

Other key components of the Bernoulli One platform are extensive device connectivity (i.e. medical device integration) and real-time alarm and data management. One hospital’s Director of Respiratory Care said that with Bernoulli they are “able to safety monitor patients across the entire facility without the constant distraction and fatigue of false alarms.” The synthesis of clinical surveillance and real-time actionable information means caregivers have more useful information for clinical decision support. This leads to quicker patient response times, reduced transfers and length of stay, and reduced costs.

Bernoulli is participating at the HealthAchieve conference in Toronto, ON, November 6-7, 2017. Local Bernoulli representatives will be onsite (booth #1310) to demonstrate the Bernoulli One platform including:

  • Clinical Surveillance and Monitoring
  • Medical Device Integration (MDI)
  • Real-Time Data Analytics
